Hey! I'm Avikam
I'm a 4th year Computer Science undergraduate at the University of Waterloo.
I'm originally from New Delhi, but spent most of my childhood growing up in Singapore.
I love learning and building new things. My ultimate goal is to use technology to build products that people need and love using.
Outside of cs/tech, when I don't have immediate academic deadlines (and when the weather is nice), I like spending time outdoors. I also love playing all kinds of sports – football, table tennis, squash and more :)
Now
This winter, I'm back at university finishing up my 4A term. I'm taking:
- CS 479 - Neural Networks
- CS 454 - Distributed Systems
- ECE 459 - Programming for Performance
Previously
Through my internships, I've had the opportunity to work across the full stack. Through co-ops at 4 different companies so far, I've gained knowledge and experience in infrastructure/devops, backend and frontend development, and (some) machine learning.
Here's a brief overview of my past internships:

DNAstack, Software Engineer InternW24
- DNAstack is a federated data sharing platform for researchers to share, access, and derive insights from genomics and health data.
- I worked as a Platform Engineer on the Platform Ops team.
- Apart from day-to-day platform tasks that led to improved developer experience, I mostly worked on building out a new dev/staging cloud environment from scratch.
Tech: GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Datadog, Java, Python
- Constant Contact is a digital and email marketing platform for small businesses.
- I worked on the Shared Infrastructure team.
